Don’t Be Shocked By The Green Porch Lights Popping Up All Over Nevada!
If you're walking around your neighborhood and start seeing green lights pop up, don’t be confused. No, Nevada isn’t getting invaded by aliens (We've been told Area 51 has that under control), it’s not an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration, and no, your neighbors aren't opening their own dispensary (well... probably not.) These glowing green lights are a bold and heartfelt way for Nevadans to show support for our US military!
It might be a porch light, a display in a window, or even those cool permanent Christmas lights shining bright green to make a BIG statement. And that statement? "We see you, we appreciate you, and we’ve got your back!"
WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This movement isn't just about being patriotic or showing off American pride. It's about REAL people supporting REAL military members! These people are our neighbors, or family members, and our friends. Maybe your next door neighbor served in Iraq, or your co-workers daughter just enlisted. Whatever the reason, this is an incredibly simple but even more incredibly powerful way to say we recognize the sacrifices you're making for us!
WHY NEVADA?
Nevada does a lot of things really well, and besides world-class entertainment and some amazing buffets, they support their own! Nellis Air Force Base is right down the road in Vegas, and they have a massive military presence throughout the entire state. Whether it's active duty, military families or veterans, Nevadans know how to step up and show their appreciation.
So, if you start seeing a green glow lighting up porches, windows, driveways or even sidewalks, just know it's not a color. It's a MESSAGE! It's a bold, glowing, in your face reminder that in Nevada, they stand with our troops, and they're proud of all the sacrifices made!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go buy a green light bulb. My front porch could use a little Vegas-style glow anyway!
