Huge Department Store Closing 150+ Locations: Utah & Nevada Affected!
Huge news coming from one of America's most well-known department stores: They're shutting down ANOTHER 150 locations in the country! The place you've probably browsed for clothes, Christmas gifts, perfumes, or maybe you've watched their Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV! So far, none of the specific locations have been announced yet, but with plenty of stores in Utah and Nevada, people are definitely wondering if their local store will be cut next!
WHAT STORE IS SHUTTING DOWN 150 LOCATIONS?
In case you didn’t catch the clue about the Thanksgiving Day Parade, we’re talking about MACY'S. With hundreds of stores across the country (and several here in Utah, California, and Nevada), Macy’s has been a go-to for everything from fashion and beauty to home essentials. But, just like Bed Bath & Beyond, Big Lots!, Joann, and Rue21 before it, Macy’s is struggling to keep those physical doors open. With more people moving to online shopping, the need for brick-and-mortar stores is shrinking. The sad truth? Macy’s might not be able to hold onto all its storefronts.
WILL YOUR STORE SURVIVE?
If you're a resident of California, Nevada, or Utah, you're probably hoping that your Macy's locations will survive the cut. Utah has already lost a few Macy's locations over the past couple years, with more and more customers choosing online shopping.
WHAT ABOUT THE THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE?
The good news (for now) is that there hasn’t been any word that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or their Fourth of July fireworks show is in jeopardy. These events are deeply rooted in American tradition, and it seems like they’ll keep rolling no matter how many stores close. But as for your local Macy’s? You might want to shop there while you still can!
