HUGE Gas Station Chain Closing 1000 Locations in 2025! Utah and Nevada Affected!

We've got BIG changes coming to the gas station world here in the US, and Shell is definitely leading that charge! The Gas Station GIANT, Shell plans to close over 1,000 gas stations across the US by the end of 2025! Don't worry just yet though... It's not necessarily a sign of trouble. This is part of their strategy to embrace the future of transportation!

WHY THE CLOSURES?

Shell is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the entire world, and they're making a huge pivot towards electric vehicles. States like California, Utah, and Nevada will definitely be feeling the impact of these closures, too. With more than 1,000 locations in Nevada, and 54 in Utah It's safe to say we're definitely going to notice these changes! Shell is investing in Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure. They're planning to install 70,000 EV Charging Stations by the end of 2025! Plus, another 230,000 more by 2030!

What About the Stations Staying Open?

For the Shell locations that are safe from the chopping block, the future looks good! These stations are going to be undergoing some big upgrades! They'll see things like modernized retail spaces and expanded EV charging hubs. So, if your favorite Shell is staying open, you can expect a prettier, more convenient experience!

Which Stations Are Closing?

That's the question of the hour. Shell hasn't revealed yet exactly which locations are going to be on the chopping block! Nevada and Utah are destined to see some closures in the near future though!
