HUGE Restaurant Chain Announces 150 Closures! Utah, California & Nevada At Risk!
It’s 2:00 a.m., and you’re wrapping up a night out. Suddenly, the craving hits: pancakes, bacon, and a steaming cup of coffee. Naturally, you think of Denny’s, your trusty 24-hour diner. But here’s the bad news—your “always open” sanctuary might not be so reliable anymore. One of America’s most iconic restaurant chains is set to close 150 locations nationwide over the next two years, including 50 closures by the end of 2024.
So, What’s the Chain?
Hate to break it to you, but it’s Denny’s. Yup, the home of the Grand Slam breakfast and late-night comfort food is scaling back in a big way. If you’re in California, Utah, or Nevada, brace yourself—your neighborhood Denny’s could be on the chopping block.
The chain is slashing 10% of its U.S. restaurants. By the time the dust settles, about 1,375 locations will remain. With California boasting 389 Denny’s (that’s 25% of all their restaurants worldwide), Nevada housing 40, and Utah counting 23, the West Coast is definitely in the danger zone.
Why is Denny’s Pulling the Plug?
It comes down to underperforming locations. Many of these spots are outdated and in areas where business just isn’t booming anymore. If the building’s falling apart and no one’s swinging by for late-night Moons Over My Hammy, it’s time to say goodbye.
Is Your Denny’s Safe?
For now, Denny’s hasn’t released a hit list of doomed locations, so your go-to diner could still be in the clear—for now. But if the closures include your favorite spot, those early morning Lumberjack Slams might soon be a distant memory.
If you’re in Utah, California, or Nevada, keep a close eye on your local Denny’s. The late-night pancake runs we’ve all taken for granted might soon be going the way of the jukebox.
