Is Pizza On The Menu? Exciting Changes Coming To Chick-fil-A!
There is at least one change coming to all Chick-fil-A stores in Utah and I am really crossing my fingers for another one.
There is a nation wide change that is coming, which may affect whether or not you want to continue purchasing any chicken at Chick-Fil-A, and a change I'm hoping for that has nothing to do with being open on Sundays. Here's what's going on:
Chick-Fil-A has been trying out pizza. PIZZA!!!!
Why the major game changer? Here's what they said:
“We’ve noticed our customers getting creative with Chick-fil-A ingredients on pizzas at home, so, we’ve decided to jump on board! Your taste buds already know the flavors, so it’s love before the first bite,” said Stuart Tracy, senior culinary lead developer.
People have been making pizza with chicken from Chick-Fil-A for years. I don't know why I have never done it. But this looks good.
What kid of pizzas would they offer? Chicken Pizza of course! Here are the two that really get me excited for the possibility of pizza at Chick-Fil-A:
Buff-lo-Ranch Pizza Pie - “Mozzarella cheese topped with seasoned-to-perfection sliced Chick-fil-A Nuggets, buffalo sauce, creamy house-made ranch dressing drizzles, and a dusting of zesty lemon pepper seasoning.”
Chick-fil-A Pizza Pie - “The classic Chick-fil-A experience on a pizza. Mozzarella cheese topped with juicy, seasoned-to-perfection chopped Chick-fil-A® Nuggets, drizzled with Chick-fil-A® Sauce and served with pickles.”
If done right, I would freakin LOVE both of these pizzas. ♥ I really hope the idea makes it past the testing phase and we get to try it here in Utah.
The nation wide change that will definitely affect Utah has to do with the No Antibiotics Ever (NAE) chicken regulations. It seem that they will be replaced with No Antibiotics Important To Human Medicine (NAIHM) standards for the type of chicken that is purchased. No word yet on exactly when this change will take place. It feels more like the rules were too strict, not like they are lowering their standards.
“NAE means no antibiotics of any kind were used in raising the animal. NAIHM restricts the use of those antibiotics that are important to human medicine and commonly used to treat people, and allows the use of animal antibiotics only if the animal and those around it were to become sick,” the restaurant said in their statement.
If I'm going out to eat I would love a chicken and pickle pizza. I will wish upon a star, cross my fingers and toes and see what happens.
