The average American eats about 20 pounds of ice cream a year.

And they eat that much because they get home and their kids are screaming and throwing stuff and they just need to get out of the house for an hour before they can put the little munchkins to bed and so they go hunting for ice cream.

What's amazing to me is that vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor in the U.S. Is that because that's what kids order? I like vanilla and I get frustrated when people make fun of me for getting it. They call it "plain," but I think it's a flavor just like chocolate is a flavor! They both come from beans! Don't punish vanilla just because it's so popular that it's become the default ice cream flavor.

But the most important question is always..."What's the best ice cream in your area?"

I've been here and really liked it. I wouldn't call it ice cream though. It's its own category and it's very enjoyable.
