Utah Bank Robber Steals HOW MUCH??
Some dude in Salt Lake knocked-off a Wells Fargo on Wednesday.
This has got to be one of the most stressful scenarios in any job. Some maniac comes in and asks you to empty the register.
Bank tellers must wake-up every day wondering if today is the day somebody robs them.
Well, Wednesday was that day for some teller at Wells Fargo in SLC.
A 65-year-old guy comes in and hands a note to the teller that says:
"Please pardon me for doing this but this is a robbery. Please give me $1. Thank you." (USA TODAY. Link to article)
What is he gonna buy?
One pull of cotton candy?
Two gummy bears?
Seven drips of gas? (unleaded)
A little less than a full cup of milk?
Well, he didn't really have plans to get away with the cash.
The teller gives him one dollar and then asks him to leave. But the guy demands that they call the police on him. Apparently he wants to go to jail.
His name is Donald Santacroce or "Big Don". After he got the dollar he refused to leave so the bank called the police. He didn't have a gun he was just a weirdo who wanted to go to federal prison. The police took him to a local jail. Per the affidavit, Donald wasn't pleased that the crime wasn't big enough to justify being sent to the big slammer...
"Donald said he had done this because he wanted to get arrested and go to federal prison. Donald stated that if he gets out of jail, he will rob another bank and ask for more money next time trying to get the desired result of going to federal prison," according to the affidavit. (USA TODAY)
