Chapter 13 New Digs 83
The ten ancient rulers leaned on the table or rested back in their chairs. Lord Malphas, with a broad face and horns that sloped down and away from his head, leaned forward. “There are fantastic stories about what happened. What is the truth?”
“I have interviewed the teacher, Borgin,” said Asag. “He did not want to talk at first.”
“He should be punished severely,” said Lord Culsu. He was tall and gaunt with a cruel mouth and hard eyes.
“He was burned with such heat that the material of his clothing was melted to his skin.” Asag said this without emotion.
This caused Lord Culsu to chuckle cruelly while the others smiled.
Borgin's Punishment
He will be relegated to gathering roots in the nethermost caves for the rest of his pitiful existence,” continued Asag. Then after a pause, “with this Council's permission of course.” The others nodded their assent.
"So, in a match of wills, the student mastered the teacher. Very impressive," said Malphas thoughtfully.
"The student Succubus did not beat his instructor in a duel," said Asag. "This is why I called this meeting."
With this insight, the other's attention was again focused on Asag.
