Recently I participated in a workshop with some friends that offered me some great insights. I felt so nourished by the exercise that I wanted to share it with you because sometimes the simplest activities can have the most profound impact.

Here are the simple four steps:

Step 1: Think of a principle, idea, or concept that has you excited right now. Next, think of someone who could really benefit from this knowledge you have. Imagine that they are completely open to what you have to say.

Step 2: Write down your advice. Be bold, use your strongest voice, and explain it clearly and confidently.

Step 3: Consider sharing this information with that person. If it’s not the right time, no worries. But often, we think someone isn’t ready for our intense wisdom, only to be surprised when they appreciate it. Whether it’s your perspective or your willingness to help, they’ll likely be grateful.

Step 4: Here’s the twist: even if you don't feel up to sharing it with your friend there is another person who really needs this advice is your future self. Even if you don’t share it with anyone now, save the note for yourself. One day, when you’re feeling off course, this wisdom will be exactly what you need to hear.
