Southern Utah Could Dominate The Olympics

If Southern Utah could make their own Olympic events we could dominate.

Did you know that hot air ballooning was once an Olympic sport? We have seen some pretty crazy ones in the past and this year too. Have you seen the speed wall climbing contest? I'm just saying.

So what if Southern Utah was allowed to put in some game submissions, we could dominate in the medal count. Here are just a few suggestions that I think we should submit:

ATV Acrobatics.
Southern Utahns would also excel in ATV acrobatics. Picture daring riders performing flips, spins, and jumps over dunes and rocky terrain. Bonus points for the best dust trail. The best part about this event, some of the contestants did those tricks on purpose.

Extreme Sunbathing
No one knows how to bask in the sun quite like a Southern Utahn. This event combines endurance, patience, and a high tolerance for heat. Competitors must lay on a scorching rock slab at high noon without moving or melting into a puddle of sweat. The key is achieving the perfect tan without falling victim to the first spring, forgot lotion, sunburn.

Shave Iceathon
How many specialty shave ice can you down in the allotted time? This one is not only for those with a tough vagal nerve allowing them to chug the iced treat without brain freeze, but a strong pocketbook to be able to afford them. People already line up for these refreshing delights we might as well build a stadium.

Cliff Jumping
Move over, Acapulco divers. Southern Utah’s version involves wacky ways to leap off red rocks, with epic boat photos to follow. We know how to climb, chant, and make the jump more thrilling than anywhere else.
