A Franchise That Would Add to Southern Utah's Food Scene

A doughnut shop that started in 2019 in Indiana has made its way to Utah with a location in Provo. I’m always thinking of new franchises I would like to see open up in Southern Utah, and Parlor Doughnuts is now on that list.

It isn’t like we don’t have some great donut places in the southern part of the state. I have been happy with the increasing options. It is more that the pastries being made in Provo are in a different category.

Savory Layered Doughnuts: A New Experience

First off, they don’t spell it the same. It is a doughnut and they make it with layered dough. I’m not sure what that means, but the texture and taste is different from any of the donuts I have tasted before.

They have some amazing, sweet varieties like Cookies n’ Cream, Chocolate Chocolate, and Maple Bacon. I don’t eat a lot of sugar, so I only looked at these. I was all about the savory layered doughnuts.

These were a circle of the layered dough with pizza like toppings on top. I tried the Margherita, Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, and the one I liked the best, the Chicken Bacon Ranch. They were all good but the last was exceptional.

If you get a chance when you are driving through Provo, stop and try one of these unique pastries. And if you are looking for a franchise to bring to the southern part of the state, this would make a great addition.
