Cedar City Hospital Ranked In The Top 100….Again

Want to get health care at one of the top rural hospitals in the country? You won't have to go far.

Four Intermountain Health Hospitals have been named Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals for 2025, according to a new national study by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The annual study is meant to highlight rural and community hospitals that can serve as an example to other hospitals seeking to improve healthcare in the communities they serve. Chartis uses publicly available data, along with their own system and metrics, to measure the performance of hospitals.

Intermountain Cedar City Hospital, Intermountain Park City Hospital, Intermountain Bear River Valley Hospital, and Intermountain Sevier Valley Hospital all made this year’s list.

Cedar City Hospital's appearance in the top 100 is becoming in itself an annual experience. The hospital has been pn the Top 100 list now for thirteen years running.

Robinett is president of Intermountain Cedar City Hospital. “Our caregivers, leaders, and provider partners are deeply committed to providing excellent patient care and helping those we serve live the healthiest lives possible. We are honored to be named as one of the 2025 top performing community hospitals.”

My wife and I have spent our fair share of time at the facility over the last few years.

Last summer, I woke up feeling feverish and uncomfortable, and made a trip to the emergency room. Turns out, I had sepsis, and ended up spending a couple of days in hospital care. The treatment and care was excellent.

When we both got diagnosed with cancer, we were in the care of the providers from Cedar City Hospital. One member of the hospital staff even came to our home to explain what had been found in me, and explained the upcoming procedures. When it came time for us to have surgeries, they did have us got to the St. George Regional Hospital.

After that, while surgery was all that I required, Tammy would then need to go through Chemo treatments. Fortunately, she was able to obtain those treatments here locally at the Sandra L. Maxwell Cancer Center at the hospital, a facility that didn't exist when we first moved to town. The staff there are some of the kindest, compassionate and competent persons you will ever know.

It comes as no surprise to me that the Cedar City Hospital ranks this high on a national survey. So take comfort in the fact that if you require some of the highest quality health care in the nation, you won't have to go far.
