Looking outside the window right now is depressing to me. It's snowing. Vigorously. No, I know, we need the snowfall to increase our snowpack to, hopefully, put a dent in the drought we have been enduring for several years. But still, this weather doesn't exactly cheer me up. As I have written earlier, the winter joy I experienced as a kid has long since faded. Winter is just not my best friend. Still, I think it's worth the effort to try and get out of this funk

Cheering oneself up is a challenge, especially during tough times, but it's important to find ways to boost your mood and maintain a positive outlook. Here are some effective ways to cheer yourself up

Listen to music: This my absolute go to. I love music and there is hardly an hour where some kind of music isn't being payed somewhere in our house. Listening to music can have a powerful effect on your mood. Choose music that lifts you up and makes you feel good.

Get outside: Pretty sure this one will be easy for me today. After all, there is a driveway waiting to be cleared. Spending time in nature can improve your mood and help you feel more connected to the world around you. Take a walk in the park, go for a hike, or simply sit and enjoy the beauty of nature.

It takes effort to cheer yourself up and requires finding activities and habits that work for you and lifting your mood in a positive way. Whether it's through exercise, connecting with loved ones, or simply getting outside, there are many ways to improve your mood and maintain a positive outlook. So, take the time to explore what works best for you, and make a commitment to incorporating these practices into your daily life. I think I'm going to give hibernation a try.
