Then we got to visit with Dalle Cobb, who is Miss Iron County for 2023-2024. Along with her was Nicole Jacobsen who was also just crowned as Miss Iron County Teen. Dallee is a senior at Southern Utah University majoring in Elementary Education. Nicole is attending high school at Canyon View and is a life long resident of Cedar City.

We were also able to visit with Reed Flake. He is the announcer who will keep the crowd informed during the rodeo. Reed has traveled from Snowflake Arizona to be with us in Iron County. A lot is at stake as the season is coming to an end, and cowboys are seeking after every dollar and point they can get in hopes of qualifying for the NFR in Las Vegas.

With Don was Dustin Jenkins who is the Rodeo Barrelman and Clown. It is Dustin's job to entertain the crowd along with giving the cowboys a way to escape after a rough ride. Dustin made the trip all the way from southern Missouri, near Branson, to be here.

The Rodeo will be held all weekend long, except Sunday, at the Iron County Fairgrounds. This rodeo is the only PRCA rodeo held in the county.

Of course, there is much more to the Iron County Fair than the rodeo. The midway is open with a carnival and rides along with all kinds of vendors and food trucks.

And you can see the best of Iron County artisans and crafters in the exhibition hall. Blue ribbons have already been awarded, so stop in to see who grabbed the top prize!

There's really nothing that shows the tradition and nostalgia of America like a county fair. County fairs are a living history lesson. They offer a glimpse into the past, showcasing the agricultural roots of many communities. Livestock exhibits, agricultural displays, and farming competitions provide valuable insights into the farming heritage that sustains us. For city-dwellers and suburbanites, it's a chance to reconnect with the land and appreciate the hard work of those who feed our nation.
