A Fast Food FAVORITE Is Closing 200 Locations: Utah & Nevada At Risk!
This news totally sucks. One of my absolute FAVORITE fast food joints has announced they're closing down up to 200 locations across the U.S. I'm not okay. The place where you can get breakfast at 3:00 pm, incredible burgers, and those oddly amazing tacos could soon be gone. Yes... I'm talking about Jack In The Box!
What We Know So Far
Jack in the Box made the bombshell announcement back on April 25, stating that:
150 to 200 restaurants will be shut down as part of their “JACK on Track” plan.
80 to 120 of those locations are expected to close by the end of 2025.
The remaining locations will be closed as franchise agreements expire.
The company didn’t say which locations are getting the axe.
What’s Actually Going On?
This isn’t just a random shutdown spree. Jack in the Box says this is part of a bigger strategy to clean up their balance sheet, focus on some growth oriented investments, like making the stores look better! They're also looking to simplify their entire operation to set themselves up for better success, long term! This is part of a "return to simplicity" or "JACK on Track" plan! This means they're cutting some underperforming stores, and trying to run a tighter game plan!
Why I'm Crushed:
Let’s not forget what makes Jack in the Box so iconic:
Breakfast all day (why do more restaurants not do this?!)
The tacos: they’re cheap, greasy, and why are they so good?!
Burgers that hold their own: (such an underrated burger!)
Which Locations Are Shutting Down?
They’re keeping quiet about which locations are closing, so for now, every trip to Jack in the Box might be your last. Eat those tacos like they’re your final meal. Seriously.
Oh—and the company is also thinking about selling off Del Taco, which they bought in 2022. So yeah, lots of changes ahead!
