Music Stars We Could See At The Washington County Fair!
The Washington County Fair is happening this upcoming spring, April 12-20, 2024. The last two years, the Fair has brought in two awesome country acts: Chris Janson and Walker Hayes. The first year, Walker Hayes sold out QUICK, with Walker having a HUGE hit in "Fancy Like" aka the Applebees Song. The reason we see a lot of Country music acts instead of any other genre is pretty simple. The Country music crowd pays. They buy tickets. The Country acts are USUALLY very family friendly.
Something to remember: BIG country acts are expensive, and we won't see GIANT stars anytime soon. It's best to get a smaller act that COULD gain some popularity before they hit the stage in April.
Here are the TOP ARTISTS we could see at the Washington County Fair this year:
I would DIE if we brought Jelly Roll to Southern Utah! He's still early in the game, but he may be TOO big to get him. I think we could sell out SO FAST if it was Jelly! He's the CMA's New Artist of the Year, and he's SO FUN! I think we have a chance. A small chance, but still a chance to land Jelly Roll this April.
Lainey Wilson, like Jelly Roll, is also on the upward trajectory. If we want to get her, we need to act NOW! Lainey Wilson is also very open about her... "Dump Truck" aka her booty. She's posted memes about how large and in charge it is. Bring her to Southern Utah, she would be so fun!
Dylan Scott is someone that I feel could actually be announced in the coming days. He's had a few hits, but has stayed relatively small in the Country Music genre. But he's still big enough that he could bring a crowd into the fairgrounds.
Hardy is a singer-songwriter and has written huge hits for big stars! He's recently gone out on his own and has had big hits like 'Truck Bed', 'Rednecker', 'Give Heaven Some Hell', 'Wait In The Truck', and 'One Beer'. He's more ROCK than most Country artists though, and his shows aren't exactly family friendly. However, I'd still like to have him in Southern Utah.
Diamond Rio has been around for a long time, and they were big in the 90's. The bands Piano player, Dan Truman is from St. George, so that could help us get Diamond Rio. They've played many times in town, in Mesquite, and just the other day played in Cedar City. I don't think everyone would be absolutely thrilled if they were announced, but I think they'd sell a good amount of tickets!
Wynonna Judd, baby! She was a rockstar in the 80's and 90's, and she's half of the group "The Judd's". Wynonna has been back on the stage recently, and since it's been a while since she's been a big star, she may come here for cheap!
Who would YOU like to see at the Washington County Fair? Even if they're not a Country act, I'd still love to hear what you'd have to say!
