Renters in Utah, California and Nevada BEWARE Of New Fraud Scheme

Times are tough, but don't let that make you fall for the scams that prey on people desperate of housing. Listing that look too good to be true, ARE. This is how most scams start. I've seen these type of scams from Utah all the way to California. I know that we are diligently searching for a great deal and might be a little desperate and need a break, but this isn't it.

This house is listed as a "rent to own."

Here's what the listing looked like:

First off, don't click on links! Look them up online first. Secondly, IF (and that is a BIG IF) there was this great of a deal for a house, it would most likely be offered to friends and family and not be put on a yard sale facebook page.

Then look for inconsistencies in the text. Odd punctuation and spacing, Capitalization in the middle of a sentence, and uncommon phrases. If commenting is turned off, that is a BIG hint that it is a bogus post. If the original poster has a new social media account with no posts available, IT'S A SCAM!

If you are looking at any house that has just been upgraded, it better be reflected in the price, or there will be some hidden surprise waiting for you.

Any house that is $550 per month in rent, does not look like this.  And do not expect upgrades....this looks pristine and the going rate for a rental is more than 3 times that price.

This economy is rough but be safe out there! If you see a post like this, please report it to admins. They are trying to collect your personal info to SCAM YOU.  This will likely catch many people in a scam, totally unaware.
