We are being told by every health guru lately that we need to up the protein in our diets. In an article from Healthline it talks about the top 10 science backed reasons we need to pack more protein in. It helps with everything from curbing your appetite and lowering blood pressure to repairing your body after injury, protein is a highly needed nutrient.

Just a few years ago you could go take your pick of chicks at the local Cal-Ranch, Tractor Supply or IFA, and now you better know the shipment schedule or you won't get the breeds you want. But I do love that there are more local breeders that I can patron. ♥

I just discovered the BEST snack with eggs. It's not deviled eggs. (Although those are hard to top.) It's Egg salad!!! You can put it on a sandwich , toast or cracks and it just hits the spot.
Yelp lists several options, including Farmstead, Gaia's Garden Cafe, The French Bakery, and Tom's Deli. You can also find them at grocery stores like Harmons Neighborhood Grocer, Village Baker and First Watch.
Here's what I used to make the best snack:
Start with the best ingredients. ;) These are eggs from my own flock of 28 chickens.
Ingredients- Just add some
mayo
mustard of choice
garlic powder
onion powder
chives
cucumber
and a little cayenne.
