Most people think "It'll never happen to me!", but the fact of the matter is... bad things happen all the time! All we can do is be prepared for something to happen. I've been watching A LOT of 20/20 and Dateline lately, and it's showed me that more women need to be prepared everyday! I'm not saying to go out and buy a gun, knife, or nunchucks if you're not comfortable with that, but a taser or pepper spray can make you feel a little safer without being scared of it.

Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted in the United States. Every 9 minutes a child is sexually assaulted. Shockingly, out of every 1,000 perpetrators only 25 of those will end up in prison.

Sometimes you can do everything you need to do, and that's still not enough to stop a maniac. Look at Lauren McCluskey, the student athlete for the University of Utah that was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 2018. Lauren contacted Campus Police, Salt Lake City Police, and the people in charge of her housing. All three didn't take her concerns seriously, and Lauren was killed days later. It could have been avoided. It could have been prevented.

If you're still reading this, I REALLY hope that you take your safety seriously and find a way to protect yourself. Whether you choose a gun, a knife, nunchucks, pepper spray, mace, a personal alarm, or a taser, I hope that you do it. Go buy something. Protect yourself. Please.

If you've never looked for tasers online, you'd probably be surprised to see how inexpensive they are. You can get a GOOD taser for $15! I would suggest getting something a little bigger and a little more expensive, but that's completely up to you. But please... If you've made it this far. Do whatever you can to protect yourself.
