22 years ago today, 2,996 people were killed in the September 11th attacks on America. Here in Utah, we are around 2,400 miles away from the attacks. However, even Utahns weren't safe from the attacks. On September 11, 2001, three Utah citizens were killed. These are those people.

Mary was aboard American Airlines Flight 11 with her daughter Carolyn. American Airlines Flight 11 was hijacked and flown into the North Tower at 8:46 a.m. It was the first of the four planes to be hijacked. Mary was from Kaysville, Utah. She had traveled out to the East Coast to help Carolyn's twins settle into school at the Rhode Island School of Design. Mary & Carolyn were aboard Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles. Mary was 78. Carolyn was 48.

Mary was reluctant to travel after her husband, Norman had recently had a heart attack. Norman believed Mary "Would have lived another 25 years. I have no doubt about it." She hated flying, but made the trip to help her daughter Carolyn. The night before the attack she called her family and told them "I'll never do this again. I'll come home and I'll never do this again." Mary had 5 children, 16 grandchildren, and had scored TWO holes in one on the golf course! Her husband, Norman passed away in 2006 at the age of 88.

Carolyn was a force in the music business. She was the producer of Van Halen's "Right Now" music video which won the MTV Video Music Award for "Best Video" in 1992. She was a mother of three kids, Lauren, Lindsey, and Nicholas. Carolyn retired from the music business and was writing a children's book about Noah's Ark, through the eyes of Noah's Wife.

Brady was a graduate of Utah State University and was working at the Pentagon the morning of September 11th. American Airlines flight 77 flew into the west wall of the Pentagon, killing 125 people inside, including the 64 people aboard the Boeing 757.

Brady was 26 years old at the time of his passing and was a devoted member of the LDS Church. Brady was married almost five years to his wife Liz. Brady was awarded the Superior Civilian Service Medal for his accomplishments in the Navy. Defense officials recognized Brady as being at his station of duty on September 11, 2001 in defense of his country. This is no different than that of a soldier on the field of combat.

22 Years ago. It's one of those things that EVERYONE will remember exactly where they were when it happened. September 11, 2001. Maybe you were waking up for school like I was. Maybe you were making breakfast for your family. Maybe you were at work already. One of the most heartbreaking days in American history.

Last year, on September 11th, I was in New York City and I dropped by the 9/11 Museum. I took photos and videos inside the museum, I wanted to share them with YOU! These photos are from my Instagram Stories one year ago. Prepare yourself... They're not the easiest photos to see.

Survivor's Staircase:

This staircase is still standing (for the most part) and was the staircase that thousands of New Yorkers used to escape the World Trade Center on 9/11.

22 years later, and all of us still remember where we were that morning. If you ever have the chance to go to New York City and see the 9/11 Museum... TAKE IT! Even the memorial at Ground Zero is incredible.
