This is unreal. Is it legal to marry your cousin in Utah? I cannot believe I am typing this but....Not only yes you CAN marry your cousin, but you can marry your 1st cousin in Utah.

Now, there are some stipulations if you want to marry your 1st cousin. That is just so crazy to type. I really had no idea this was even close to legal, and it still makes me shutter.

Here are the stipulations- In Utah, 1st cousins can marry IF  Both are over 65 OR

If both parties are over 55, if the court finds that they are unable to reproduce. How odd is your marriage if the court must find you unable to produce first, then you can get married.....

So you CAN marry your 1st Cousin in Utah. Wow! In fact, you can marry your 2nd cousin no problem. Here is what the law stipulates: You cannot marry your first cousin, or anyone related more closely than a first cousin, such as an aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, parent or child, brother or sister.

The rest is a free-for-all. Who knew.

Oh also, in Utah there is no waiting period before you can get married. So, as soon as you get your license, you can get hitched. The license is only valid for 32 days. So if you get cold fee and do not have the marriage solemnized by then, then the license will expire. So send out the invitations, organize the pot luck and find someone totally fine with marrying cousins and you can have yourself a wedding by May.
