Fun Fall Events Coming Up in Utah
Fall is one of the best times to get out and explore Utah. As temperatures cool and the leaves begin changing, communities across the state come alive with pumpkin patches, corn mazes, festivals, Oktoberfests and Halloween attractions. Whether you're planning a family outing, a date night or a weekend adventure, there are plenty of ways to enjoy
the season.
Where to Find the Best Fall Fun
🎃 Get Lost in a Corn Maze
Nothing says fall quite like a trip to a pumpkin patch or corn maze. Glen Ray’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch in Spanish Fork opens September 18 and runs through October 31. Along with its corn maze and pumpkin patch, the farm offers more than 30 activities, with the spooky Field of Fright opening September 25.
Another popular option is Rowley’s Red Barn Fall Festival in Santaquin, running September 19 through October 30. Visitors can enjoy a seven-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, tractor rides, giant slides, apple cannons, a petting zoo and live music on weekends.
🍂 Visit the Utah State Fair
The Utah State Fair returns to Salt Lake City September 10–20. It's a classic fall tradition featuring carnival rides, food, exhibits, live entertainment and plenty of activities for the whole family. If you're looking for a quintessential Utah fall outing, the fair is an easy choice.
🍺 Celebrate Oktoberfest
Fall also means Oktoberfest season in Utah. Snowbird’s Oktoberfest continues through October 11, offering live music, traditional Bavarian food and more than 50 varieties of beer on weekends. The mountain setting makes the festival especially scenic as autumn colors begin appearing in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
For another mountain-town experience, Sundance Oktoberfest runs September 18 through October 4. It’s a fun opportunity to combine fall scenery with food, music and seasonal festivities.
👻 Get Spooky for Halloween
If you're looking for something a little scarier, Utah has plenty of Halloween attractions beginning in September. Frightmares at Lagoon runs September 11 through November 8, while Haunted Forest in American Fork continues through November 7.
In Salt Lake County, Nightmare on 13th, Fear Factory and Kuwahara’s Pumpkin Patch and Thriller Park all return for the 2026 season. For a less intense experience, families can visit pumpkin patches and fall festivals throughout Utah County and Salt Lake County.
🎭 Enjoy Fall Arts and Festivals
Fall isn't just about pumpkins and haunted houses. Utah's event calendar also includes concerts, cultural festivals and performing arts. The Utah Shakespeare Festival continues its 2026 season in Cedar City through October, making it a great excuse for a Southern Utah getaway.
The Timanogos Storytelling Festival takes place September 10–12 at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, while the Utah Renaissance Fair returns to Mona October 16–18.
