WOW: Utah, Nevada, and California’s FASTEST SPEEDING TICKETS EVER!

Some drivers seem to think the speed limit is more of a... suggestion, than a rule! Most of us will get caught for going 10, maybe 15 miles over the speed limit. But, others are out there breaking records (and the law) with some speeds that would give your heart a major workout, just hearing about it! Let's take a little look at some of the fastset speeding tickets ever recorded in Utah, Nevada, and even California! Spoiler: Both Utah and California's FASTEST tickets came during 2020, when fewer people were on the freeways!

UTAH'S FASTEST TICKET:

Utah is known for their wide, open roads, and beautiful views, but that doesn't mean we can treat these roads like racetracks. In April of 2020, a Porsche got a little too comfortable on I-215. They were clocked at 148 MPH (78 Miles over the speed limit). This speed made the record books. This wasn't your average speeding ticket!

NEVADA'S FASTEST TICKET:

We all know the Dodge Charger has some major speed, but in Nevada, a driver took it to a whole new level! 155 mph, to be exact! The wildest part was: It was on a 65-mph highway! Police spotted the car at about 70 mph, but quickly hit speeds over 130 mph. The driver was only cited for 98 mph (for some reason). Maybe the cop was impressed.

CALIFORNIA'S FASTEEST TICKET:

In 2020, during the pandemic when California roads were unusually empty, one driver in Hercules, California decided to see just how fast their car could go. They hit a blazing 139 mph in a 65 mph zone, taking advantage of the wide open highways. While California is known for its traffic, this driver found a way around it, 74 miles over the speed limit!

THE COST OF BREAKING THE SOUND BARRIER:

Just in case you thought you could get away with pushing the limits, here’s a quick reality check. Speeding fines vary, but in California, you’re looking at:

- $35 for 1-15 mph over the limit
- $70 for 16-25 mph over
- $100 for 26-99 mph over
