Utah & Nevada Residents Warned: Buy These Grocery Items Now Before Price Hikes!
This is your official warning from me, your snack-loving best friend. Some of your favorite hauls from the grocery store and about to skyrocket in price! If you're smart, you'll head to the store today and stock up on these items. Whether you live in Southern Utah, Mesquite, Vegas, or anywhere in Utah or Nevada, your wallet is about to be hit! Here's a list of the items to buy now before those prices shoot up higher than our summer temps.
Coffee
If you need to start your day with caffeine, and coffee is your choice, bad news: Brazil and Colombia are facing tariffs, meaning your morning cup might soon be a little pricier than you're used to. Stock up, or risk getting a second job to fuel your fix.
Canned Goods
Whether it's corn, chili, or soup, if you got a whole pantry full, you may be sitting on a goldmine! There is aluminum and steel tariffs, and that means those 79 cent green beans might be pricier than the whole farm.
Sugar
We can't live without sugar. It's just impossible. Whether you're baking cookies, or maybe you're eating the frosting straight from the tub, sugar is about to get pricier! Tariffs on Mexico and Brazil are pushing prices up, so maybe grab a few more bags of sugar on your next trip to the grocery store.
Seafood
Did you know America imports 85% of our seafood?! Unless you're doing your own deep-sea fishing in Lake Powell or Lake Mead, frozen shrimp is the best bet before those prices swim away!
Alcohol
If you're the type of person that wants "just a glass" then empties the entire wine bottle, BUY NOW! European wine, Mexican Beer, and even vodka are going to be hit with tariffs.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
From Italy and Spain, olive oil might be the next liquid gold! Tariffs could soon jump to 20%, so drizzle wisely and consider going FULL 2020-toilet-paper-hoarder!
Vanilla
Madagascar is a country in Africa, not just a great movie from Dreamworks. However, Madagascar's pure vanilla is under a tariff now, so come July, it could spike to a ridiculous 47%! That's a ton more money for that baking ingredient you use only a drop at a time!
Nuts
Pecans, macadamias, cashews, they're about to get PRICEY, baby! Grab a stash while you're out, unless you're fine eating normal peanuts like a circus elephant!
Jasmine Rice
If your go-to side for dinner is Jasmine rice, you better scoop up a few extra bags! There's possible tariffs nearing 49%, which means it may be the most expensive part of the whole meal soon!
Chocolate Chips
Imported cacao = chocolate chip cookies might soon become the newest rich-person snack. Our cookies are about to be so expensive! I'm going to be sick!
Maple Syrup
Straight from Canada (with love and 25% tariffs), maple syrup might not flow so freely anymore. Choose Vermont syrup!
