DJ’s Kitchen: DELICIOUS Homemade Smashburgers!
Do you ever have one of those weird cravings hit you? One of those cravings, that gets you out of your house, to the grocery store buying the ingredients? Yeah, I had that feeling today. I was craving SMASHBURGERS! Now, a Smashburger, is just a normal burger, but it's pressed down in the pan, so it's flat, and a little more crispy along the edges. Here's what you'll need:
- Ground Beef
- Egg
- Onions
- American Cheese Slices
- King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- Condiments
- Kinder's Caramelized Onion Butter Seasoning
Firstly, I took 1 pound of ground beef, mixed in one egg for flavor, and rolled them into balls.
I threw some diced onions in the pan with vegetable oil, and butter and got them cookin'! I like doing this because it'll add a LOT of flavor to the burger.
Then, I added the burger to the onions and SMAAAASHHHED them down. I added parchment paper on top, so the burgers didn't stick to my press. I also added the Caramelized Onion Butter Seasoning.
While the smashburgers are cooking, I took half the Hawaiian Rolls and spread mayonnaise on them and pressed them directly into the hot frying pan. The mayonnaise adds flavor to the bread, and it's WAY better than butter on the bread. Just try it. Seriously.
Then, completely screw up, and throw your hot rolls and frying pan directly on the ground for more flavor... Extra points if you dent your frying pan. :(
I added about two slices of American cheese to the burgers and stacked them up on the warm Hawaiian rolls, added some more raw onions, and condiments and it was BIG. This would've fed AT LEAST two people.
AND ENJOY! If you make your own at home, send me pictures! I want to see!
