FIRST LOOK: The Utah Jazz Have REBRANDED! MOUNTAINS ARE BACK!

The yellow is dead... well, almost! It was announced two years ago that the Utah Jazz would be rebranding to a whole new look and color scheme. It was maybe the worst decision in the history of the franchise. The jerseys were ugly, plain, and way too minimalist. However, fans like me still bought merchandise and supported the team. Well, two LONG years later, the Utah Jazz have released the first look at their ALL NEW rebrand, and the fans are finally getting back what we've always wanted: PURPLE MOUNTAINS!

This week, the Utah Jazz social media team has been teasing that the mountains will be coming back, with a video of Utah Jazz coach, Will Hardy hiking the Utah Mountains with forward Lauri Markannen. They talk about the love for Utah, basketball, mountains, and more. It was very obvious it was a marketing ploy to tease the upcoming rebrand.

MOST BASKETBALL COURTS IN USA ARE IN UTAH?

That's right, Utah is home to the MOST basketball courts per capita in the entire nation! Plus, Utah has the LARGEST youth program in the NBA with 70,000 strong!

THE JERSEYS:

The jerseys all feature the Wasatch Mountains, purple gradient, and a strong "UTAH" across the chest in the same font that was used to spell out "JAZZ" from the Stockton & Malone era. In a couple of the jerseys, there is also the sky blue. You can see the blue skies all over Utah, EXCEPT in the Salt Lake Valley... Ya know, inversion and all.

Finally, a strong brand for some merchandise in Utah! Purple is back, Mountains are back, and we can finally heal now! I also really like the incorporation of the black and sky blue.

THE BAD NEWS:

Yes, with all good news is going to come some bad news, and this bad news SUCKS... The Jazz are only partially rebranding RIGHT NOW. The old yellow, white, and black jerseys will still be around this season as they're on their "Farewell Tour". The new white jersey, and new purple with sky blue jersey will not make it's first appearance until the 2025-2026 season. BOO! But... We will be getting the new black "Statement" jersey on New Years Day of 2025, and a purple with sky blue jersey for our city edition jersey THIS YEAR!
