Is This The Best Pizza In Southern Utah? Here’s What We Found
Sandtown Pizza is delicious. The flavor per bite is over the top. Not just salty either, the depth of flavor from all of the fresh ingredients and sauces is perfect.
I went to lunch with my friends Stephanie Fink and we decided to try out Sandtown Pizza because neither of us had been yet. We knew it must have been good because for the first little while after they opened, they were completely sold out before the lunch rush was even over.
We just happen to go on a Wednesday and we were pleasantly surprised that it was Wings Wednesday! On Wednesdays you pay just $1 per wing. (5 wing minimum) I love wings but most of the time when I try other flavors and veer from the tried and true traditional buffalo wings, I am disappointed. Not this time!
The Parmesan Garlic wings were sooooooo good. The Spicy Korean BBQ wings were different and good and the Honey Buffalo wings were awesome. I think that the Parmesan Garlic wings, were the winners, and again I usually don't like anything but the OG Buffalo.
It was fairly busy but not all of the tables were full. It did take a long while to get the food. We waited a few minutes to get our order taken and another 35 mins to get our food. We were not in a rush so we enjoyed our conversation and I got my first Christmas present for the season.
Isn't he cute? Stephanie made him for me! We try to come up with new talents and practice them and show them off every month when we go out to lunch and crocheting was hers this time. I felt so special. That is a lot of time and effort put into a gift!
There were 6 tables of people when we went, so not full, and it was pretty loud in the restaurant. In fact we noticed it multiple time when we were trying to tell our stories. I no pro so I'm not sure how to dampen the sound effectively without spending a bunch of money and changing the ambience.
When the pizza came out, it smelled delicious. It is a thin crust pizza with little sauce, cheese and pepperoni. You can order a lunch special which is 2 slices and a drink for $10 or you can order whole pizzas, which is what I opted for, so I could take some home for the family.
At first I was leery about the amount of toppings. After one bite, the flavor was so good that I didn't need any more on that convincing about how delicious Sandtown Pizza is. So Good. Oven fresh, tons of flavor and I love thin crust. I spent $26 on a whole pizza and 10 wings. It was awesome.
I would give Sandtown Pizza 195 S Bluff Street, St. George, Utah a 8 out of 10. Delicious food, good service but you wait awhile for that great food. Price is moderate and the pizza could use a few more pepperoni slices on it. It is pretty loud from patrons talking, but it also has a fun vibe. Wings Wednesday is a great value and the guys at the table next to us had mountains of bones left to prove it. Next time I'm trying the pesto pizza and a salad. Yum.
