Chapter 12 Overthrown by Fire 79
Succubus knew what was coming next. His teacher would demonstrate it, using him as the subject to be burned.

His brilliance was not to fight the curse, but to redirect it with the whirlwind funnel he had developed, not something that would normally ever cross a demon’s mind.
Borgin gathered fire and cast a painful burst down onto Succubus’ head. But rather than torching his skin, it slipped forward in front of his face. Then with a sharp hiss, it shot a shimmering blue flame directly back at his instructor.
How The Mighty Fall
Borgin had just seconds to leap away. As he did so, he lost his footing, slamming onto the slate floor and smacking his shoulder into the wall.
Memories of what Succubus had imagined about beating his teacher crossed his mind.

The other students quickly moved to the side of the cave, covering their heads.
