New Water Park In Southern Utah????
I was driving around southern Utah Easter Weekend and I saw some crazy things being built. It is fun to drive around and look at all of the growth and new things popping up around town. I was driving from the St George airport back north and decided to go through Hurricane and I saw something...right off of SR-9 on Sand Hollow Rd.
that I had no clue was being built. I didn't know what it was until I got a little closer.....I saw giant snake heads!
Dude, it's a new water park!!!! I was so excited. I had heard rumors about a water park at the new Jelly Stone Park but I didn't know it was already approved and being built! My kids were going crazy.
This thing, if done right, will ALWAYS be busy. My husband is a local. His family has been here for generations and they have talked about how many times cities have turned down permits for water parks. Guys, we've waited for so long!
When temperatures start climbing in southern Utah I always think about how there are very few places for the whole family to play in the water. St George has the hydro tube, Washington City Community Center has a pool and Cedar City Aquatic Center and of course we have some reservoirs but.....oh, how nice would it be to recreate my childhood fun from Raging Waters in northern Utah????
YES! I will definitely be taking my kids to check it out when it is open. Now we will be crossing our fingers that they get the pricing right and within a local family's budget. It is rumored to open later this summer??
From these pics it doesn't look like it will be ready that fast but here's hoping.
We will keep you posted on the progress.
