Target is closing multiple locations across the coastline states of California, Oregon, and Washington *pretends to be shocked*. According to Target, the driving force behind these store closures is—drumroll, please—ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT. Despite adding more security guards and installing fancy new anti-theft gadgets, the company claims crime rates in certain locations are just too high to handle. In a recent statement, Target basically threw up its hands, saying, "Even with all our efforts […] we’re still dealing with major challenges to keeping these stores safe and functional."
