It's official: Autumn is officially here now! A recent study showed that Autumn is America's FAVORITE season, but that means Winter is one day closer! According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, we're in for a cold, snowy, and wet winter, with heavy snowfall even predicted in mid-November! Take a look at Utah, Nevada, and California's WINTER predictions below!

UTAH (and most of Nevada):

While much of the nation faces drier-than-usual conditions, the western Rocky Mountains are gearing up for a snowy winter! This means states like Utah, Colorado, and areas around Lake Tahoe in California can expect a solid dose of wintery weather. SNOW IS COMING! Snowfall and precipitation levels across the Intermountain Region are predicted to be at or above average. The heaviest snowfalls are expected in mid-November, early and late January, and mid-March. Though it’ll be chilly, this winter won’t be particularly harsh. Temperatures are expected to be slightly warmer than usual, with the coldest snaps hitting in late November and late January.

CALIFORNIA:

This region includes most of California, aside from the far northern areas. Over recent years, the Pacific coast has dealt with its fair share of challenges, from drought to heavy rains and wildfires. So, what can we expect this winter? This winter is shaping up to be warmer than usual across the region. The chilliest stretches will likely happen in mid-December and from mid to late January. California WILL GET SNOW! Plenty of moisture is expected this season, with a wetter-than-usual winter forecasted across California. Mountain areas should see above-average snowfall, with the stormiest periods occurring in mid-December, early January, and mid to late February.

LAS VEGAS (and the Southwest):

Expect colder-than-usual temperatures throughout the season, with some monthly fluctuations. January will be about 3 degrees warmer than average, while March is forecasted to be 3 degrees colder. The chilliest stretches are predicted for mid-November, mid to late December, and early February. Prepare for above-average precipitation this winter! In regions that typically see snow, expect higher-than-normal snowfall, with the snowiest times hitting mid-December and early February.
