Southern Utah Fall Events You Need to Know About
Fall in Southern Utah may not always mean chilly sweaters and piles of crunchy leaves, but it does mean one thing: there is a lot going on. From Cedar City and Parowan to Hurricane, Washington and St. George, communities across the area are filling the calendar with festivals, markets, theater, Halloween fun and plenty of reasons to get out of the house.
Southern Utah Fall Events and Activities to Add to Your Calendar
Cedar City
Cedar City is kicking off the season with plenty of arts and entertainment. The Utah Shakespeare Festival continues through October 3 as part of its 65th anniversary season, with productions including Something Rotten!, She Loves Me, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and The Book Club Play.
October also brings the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival, scheduled for October 23–25. The annual celebration includes one of Cedar City's most recognizable traditions, the Sheep Parade, which takes over Main Street on October 24.
And if you're ready for pumpkins, the Cedar City Pumpkin Festival is scheduled for October 10 at Diamond Z Arena.
Parowan
Parowan is getting into the fall spirit with Scarecrows on Main, beginning October 2. Handmade scarecrows bring some seasonal personality to Main Street throughout October.
The community also has a Parowan Fall Fest scheduled for October 10, featuring a fall festival and car show at Parowan Main Street Park.
Hurricane
Hurricane has plenty happening as Halloween gets closer. The Hurricane Neon Night Run takes place October 23 at Grandpa's Pond Park, giving runners a chance to dress up, glow up and hit the course after dark.
The next day, October 24, brings Hurricane Fall Fest at Community Center Park from 3–8 p.m. The free family event includes trunk-or-treating, bounce houses, food trucks, a kids' market, magic and live entertainment.
St. George
St. George has a packed October calendar. The St. George Marathon returns October 3, followed by the Huntsman World Senior Games October 5–17 at venues throughout the area.
For art lovers, the Southern Utah Art Studio Tour runs October 1–11, with studios throughout the Greater St. George area.
And don't forget the Saturday Downtown Farmers Market at Vernon Worthen Park, which continues through the fall.

Washington is practically a fall destination all by itself. Staheli Family Farm's Fall Festival runs through the season, with pumpkins, a corn maze and other seasonal activities. For those who prefer their autumn with a little more screaming, Field of Screams runs select nights through October 31.
A Little Witchy Shopping in Cedar City
And then there is Bulloch Drug's Witches Night Out, happening October 16–17 in Cedar City.
Come dressed in your full witch attire and receive 40% off Halloween decor and 30% off the entire store, with exclusions applying. There will also be a costume contest from 5–7 p.m., along with refreshments and treats.
