Cedar City has plenty of big-name attractions, but sometimes the most fun places are the little businesses that give the town its personality. From chocolate-covered frozen treats to vintage soda fountains and local arts, these are a few Cedar City spots worth putting on your “let’s go there” list.

Fun Little Cedar City Businesses Worth Discovering

Dippers
If you have somehow managed to walk past Dippers without stopping, this is your sign. Located downtown at 18 N. 100 West, Dippers specializes in chocolate-dipped frozen treats, especially its famous frozen bananas. You can choose your chocolate, pile on toppings and turn a simple banana into something that feels more like a candy-bar creation.
The shop started as a local farmers market idea before growing into a downtown storefront, and its colorful building and mural make it hard to miss. It is an especially fun stop after wandering around downtown.

Cedar City Arts Council
For something a little less sugary, the Cedar City Arts Council is one of those organizations quietly helping keep Cedar City interesting. The council promotes local visual, literary and performing artists and organizes events such as the Final Friday Art Walks, where artists and musicians take over portions of downtown.
The Art Walks are free, family-friendly and a great reminder that Cedar City's arts scene goes well beyond the big productions people already know about. The council also offers mini-grants to help local artists and arts organizations bring creative projects to life.
Boomer's Bloomers & The Candy Factory
Boomer's Bloomers & The Candy Factory is basically proof that you don't have to choose between flowers and chocolate. This downtown shop combines a florist and gift shop with a candy factory offering fudge, chocolates and other sweets.
It is the kind of place where you can walk in intending to grab a bouquet and walk out wondering whether flowers really count as a gift if they aren't accompanied by fudge. The shop also carries gifts, plants and other goodies, making it a handy stop when you need something thoughtful without wanting to wander through a giant store.

Bulloch's
There are pharmacies, and then there is Bulloch's Drug Store. Sitting on Main Street, Bulloch's combines a working pharmacy with an old-fashioned soda fountain, candy, boutiques, home décor and gifts.
The historic building adds even more charm. Bulloch's brought back an original 1942 Bastian Blessing soda fountain, recreating the kind of gathering place the store once had decades ago. Today, you can browse, grab an ice cream or soda and soak up a little old-school Cedar City atmosphere.

The Soda Nerd
Finally, there is The Soda Nerd, because apparently Cedar City believes there should always be another reason to get a ridiculously fun drink.
The Soda Nerd serves customizable specialty sodas along with shaved ice, smoothies, cotton candy, cookies and other treats. The fun is in the combinations, so you can create something familiar or get adventurous with flavors, creams and add-ins. It is located at 133 W. Harding Avenue and makes an easy stop when you need a cold treat while exploring town.
