St. George, Utah Needs To PROTECT THESE THINGS At All Cost!
We live in a place with a lot of character, charm, and beauty. But, it feels like St. George has changed so much over the past 10, 20, 30, even 40 years! Sometimes St. George feels unrecognizable! Buildings are being torn down and new things are coming in. But there's a few things in St. George that should NEVER be touched, and they should be protected forever! I don't think it's going to be possible, but we should make it happen! Here are MY LIST of things that should be protected AT ALL COSTS!
Sands Motel:
Sands Motel has been here FOR YEARS! But when you think of it, you probably think a dirty, old, crumby motel. But it's a staple of St. George! How cool would it be if the Sands Motel was bought by someone, had the rooms and pool completely redone, and was a place people were DYING to stay at? That would be AMAZING!
The Dixie Sunbowl:
For years, the City of St. George and the St. George Lions Club were in battles over the Sunbowl. The City wanted the land for office buildings, or hotels, or maybe a school. The Lions Club fought back and have retained the Sunbowl. Now, they've made some big changes to it. They've added nicer, cleaner bathrooms, better concession areas, and new entrances. But we should be having BIG concerts here! There's thousands of seats, and TONS of room for more seats down inside the bowl. Let's protect this, and make it awesome for generations to come!
The Frostop Sign:
Frostop has gone under... twice? Three times now? I don't believe this beloved drive-in restaurant is going to ever come back, but no matter WHAT, that sign has to stay! You can tear it out of the ground, and someone will buy it. But WHY?! Do what with it? Put it in your yard? No! That sign has to stay forever, NO MATTER WHAT goes on that location next!
Pine View Middle School:
I say this because Pine View has GOT TO BE the oldest UNTOUCHED school in the area. We've had so many schools that got unnecessary facelifts. Dixie High. Pine View High. Dixie Middle. Hurricane High. West Elementary was torn down. East Elementary is part of the college now. It's some BS. STOP DOING THIS TO THE SCHOOLS! Wouldn't it be cool to be in a school that hasn't been touched in... 50 years?! That would be awesome! Stop touching the schools! Leave them alone!
OBVIOUSLY Dixie Rock & The D on the Hill:
These are the two places that I feel are probably going to be safe FOREVER. The locals would burn this place to the ground if they were ever touched or altered. But they obviously need to still make the list.
Have I forgotten any other places that should remain UNTOUCHED?! Let me know!
