The bill wouldn't change the date of Halloween, but it would be a day where the Halloween celebrations are designated (Trick or Treating).

Obviously, here in Utah, if a holiday falls on a Sunday, it is widely celebrated on Saturday.
Feedback on the bill has people thinking this idea could be GREAT!

The bill is believed to be beneficial for parents, educators, students, and employees. "for those adults that just love Halloween, I would say that this extends your Halloween celebrations. You can celebrate Friday, Saturday and on the actual Halloween night. It my estimation, this is a win-win-win!" says Senate Majority Assistant Whip Kirk Cullimore.

Parents and teachers say this would be beneficial for students who stay up late on Halloween with school the next morning.

Why Friday? Why not Saturday? With this being observed on Friday, it still gives the kids at schools and people at their jobs, the option of dressing up and still having fun!

Studies claim to show that the day AFTER Halloween shows very poor attendance for schools. According to EdWeek.Org, they studied 2500 schools for 3 years, showing that the day after Halloween was in fact, the BIGGEST day of the year for absenteeism!
